I'm taking the week off, I guess, sigh. But hey, it gives me time to prepare my training plan :P.

I hope everyone is handling winter ok, stay safe.

Thu, 18 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Sat, Dec 13, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-13-2008.html
Holy cow it's cold! I don't know what I'm going to do when it gets colder, I just don't have enough :(. I wore 3 layers on top, I will try a 4th next time and maybe I can try 2 pairs of pants next time. I wanted to run at least 7 today but it was just too cold, so I stopped at 6.3 in 1:15, not too shabby I guess.

My legs felt fine until I turned north and got the freezing headwind, I ended up with pins and needles in my quads for the last 2 miles, no fun. But I did it and I didn't skip any planned runs this week, woot.

I need to try and set aside some time this weekend to come up with a plan for the rest of the month and then for marathon training beginning in January. It's a busy busy weekend so I don't know, we'll see :).

Sat, 13 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Fri, Dec 12, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-12-2008.html
My foot was still tender yesterday so I decided to switch days off and run today instead. I wanted to run the same route I ran on Tuesday and see if I could go the same distance, since I thought the speed was a fluke. Apparently it wasn't :).

I ran 2.6 in 30 minutes and turned around to come back (same exact speed as Tuesday, woot), I have to go down a nice hill right after the 2 mile mark and on Tuesday I ran back up it at 12:30 pace, very pleased with that. Today I was thinking of some personal stuff I'm going through and I must have some anger about it that I didn't realize I had, because I ran up it at 11:00 pace, woah. I ended up with a 3 minute negative split on the way back so I added a little more distance and got 5.4 miles in 59:13, go me :)

Hopefully my legs don't hate me tomorrow for my long run, I'm going to go for time again and maybe go for 1.5 hours? Not sure yet.

Fri, 12 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Wed, Dec 10, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-10-2008.html
My foot is a little tender, so I decided to bike for 30 minutes (10.8 miles) and then run/walk for 30 minutes. My calf is really tight so I have been stretching it twice a day, I think I may have to bump that up and see if that helps. My foot feels a little better after my stretch so hopefully I can continue running and just keep an eye on it.

I also did some abs and stretched the glutes a little more today too. Tomorrow I'll run for an hour and then Saturday I need to remember to get my run in, for some reason the day slips by and I don't even think about running, weird.

Wed, 10 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Tue, Dec 09, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-09-2008.html
I waited until the afternoon to run today, too lazy this morning. It ended up being a good thing because I got to run outside in the balmy 34 degrees, lol. I need to knit something to cover my ears though, they are still freezing, 45 minutes later.

I ended up getting 5.2 miles in in an hour, much better than last weeks 4.75 miles in an hour :). I even did some ab work and got some good stretching in, go me! hehe.

Tomorrow I think I'll do a 30 minute run and then 30 minutes on the bike, we'll see what I can squeeze in, Wednesdays are really busy for me.

Tue, 09 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Thu, Dec 04, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-04-2008.html
I took Snoqualmie's advice and just ran for time, took it easy and a couple of walk breaks too. My foot felt a little, not sore but...there, I guess. I got 4.75 miles in an hour, a bit slow but that's ok for now.

I didn't have time for weights though, so I'll try to squeeze some in tomorrow or Saturday instead.

I still havent' decided on what I'm doing for marathon training, I'll go to the library today and get some books, see what I can figure out. For now I'm just going to run 3 days this week, 4 next and probably hold that for 2 weeks and then decide from there.

Thu, 04 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Tue, Dec 02, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-02-2008.html
Yay! I got a relaxed run in, my foot felt great and my breathing was nice and easy. I did have a little soreness in my hip but I stopped and stretched and kept an eye on my stride, it felt fine after that :).

I also did some weights and ab work, I really need to do more ab work!

So I'm thinking I'll do the stationary bike tomorrow with some upperbody weights and abs, then run another 3 on thursday and take Friday off then maybe 5 on Saturday? Not sure what I should do next week, I guess we'll see how this week goes. I'm up for suggestions though :)

Tue, 02 Dec 2008 05:00:00 +0100 Tue, Nov 18, 2008 http://meadow.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-18-2008.html
2.5 miles on the treadmill and then 2.5 on the elliptical, my quads were screaming at me on the elliptical, I guess that is showing me I need to work them more ;). I kept having a side stitch while in the treadmill, that's why I switched tot he elliptical. I think I need to start taking my vitamins again. I did have a salad with mandarin oranges for lunch today, no dressing :).

I have a question for you smarties, I have never been a breakfast eater, but I try to have something for breakfast otherwise I don't eat lunch either and then I'm starving at 4pm and don't want to stop eating until bedtime, not a good cycle. Today I got a yogurt and a chocolate milk, mmm, but couldn't bring myself to eat the yogurt, I just feel naseous thinking about any type of food. How do I break this cycle? Thanks!

Tue, 18 Nov 2008 05:00:00 +0100
