Short-Term Running Goals:

Get the hip issues sorted out. Almost there, the hip flexors get tired easily again, but we are getting there.

New goal is to continue to train during the winter, up my mileage and do some weight training and yoga. Decided to make my spring focus on a half marathon and wait until fall 2009 for the full. Focus more on healthy eating as well, the whole family deserves it.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Second marathon sometime in the fall.

Train through the winter for as spring half marathon.

Someday BQ.

Personal:

I am married, since June of 1996. We have three kids, my daughter is 12 and two sons 8 and 6.

I am also a Deaf Studies student at UVU with an interpreting emphasis.

Finally, I'm back!! :)

I ran on the treadmills at school today, tried to get a little speedwork in, just to keep from getting too bored. I did upper body weights and some ab work too.

I decided that it's time to rededicate time to myself, I'm ready to start pushing myself again. I'm going to do abs after every run, upper body weights on Tuesdays, lower body weights on Thursdays and possibly yoga twice a week as well. I'm not going to get out of shape this winter and hopefully that will help with the blah's I get in January and February.

I was planning on hitting the treadmills at the gym today, but it was pretty nice out and I wanted to take advantage of the "warm" weather while I could. So I came home and got my garmin, my iPod was dead, bummer, and headed out. It's about 52 degrees with just a slight breeze. I planned on running to the canyon and back for 5 miles total. But when I got to the canyon I decided to run up a side street and hit a pretty good hill. I ran up it as hard as I could, had some demons in my head to deal with, worked quite well :). I got up to the top and sat on a rock and cried, sounds silly but it's what I needed. I then headed home with a total of 5.6 miles. I wasn't sure I could go that far since I haven't been running much lately, but it was a good run and a great confidence boost.

Easy 3 recovery, muscles aren't sore today which surprised me because last night I was pretty sore. I just ran around the school today, tried to enjoy the new area. Uneventful run, sunny out which was nice.

I planned 8-10 but the poor nutrition for the week caught up with me. Next week I'll try again :)
